How To Find Your Ideal Apartment

By Iwan Sunito

Looking for an apartment can be a tedious task and it is important to know what you are looking for depending on your budget and the location where you want to stay. It is not difficult to find an apartment that suits your needs, whether you are looking for a fully furnished apartment or one that is located next to the beach. If you are single and require a small studio apartment, or you prefer to live large and prefer a spacious four bedroom apartment, they are all available.

Apartment locations

There are furnished apartments that are available in different convenient locations. You can find apartments very close to the central business district, or you can decide to settle for one near the beach. You will find apartments that are located close to public transport while others are very near the shops, meaning you will not be far away from restaurants, cafes, green grocers and other convenience stores.

Apartment sizes

There are different sizes of apartments, from the studio apartment to spacious four bedroomed apartments. The studio apartments are large enough to accommodate one to two people. The one to four bedroomed apartments have separate living room and bedroom spaces. One-bedroomed apartments are preferred a great deal by business people and couples. Each bedroom can comfortably accommodate two people.

Apartment features

Fully furnished apartments are available that offer you a comfortable living experience. Most apartments come furnished with facilities that include TV and DVD players, intercom and air conditioning, under floor heating and internal laundry. Many have internet access, built-in wardrobes and open plan kitchens.

Most apartments have balconies that offer you great views, and you can find apartments with a terrace garden. A good number have a swimming pool and gym to allow you to relax after a hard day's work, while others will have a barbeque area enabling you to entertain your guests comfortably. Garages are also available, allowing you parking space for two cars.

Picking an apartment

You can search online for available apartments in your preferred location. Once you browse through the various websites and find an apartment you like, you will be required to visit the premises during the time scheduled for inspection. If there are no inspections that have been scheduled, you may need to call the agent to schedule an appointment so you can inspect the premises and select an apartment that works for you.

If you like an apartment and would like to rent it, the real estate agent will work out a lease contract between you and the owner. You may be required to provide some documents before you are allowed to occupy the premises, and rent has to be paid in advance. You will be required to pay a bond with the initial payment, and this bond is refundable once your rental period is over.

It is a good idea to keenly read through the Tenancy Agreement contract; you can request the real estate agent to explain to you any part of the contract that may not be clear. In case you are not comfortable with the lease contract, it is advisable to seek legal advice since the contract is binding and you need to be aware of what you are signing against.
